It boasts 160W sound, IP67 waterproofing, 24-hour battery, and a light show. Key features include its epic 160W outdoor sound system with dedicated woofers and tweeters, IP67 full protection for outdoor adventures, a 24-hour battery life with fast charging capability, and dynamic light shows for parties. It also functions as a portable power bank and offers multiple connectivity options via Bluetooth 5.3, AUX, and USB.
How does the RWN Outdoor Bluetooth Speaker compare to other portable Bluetooth speakers?
While offering robust 160W sound and durability, some category reports suggest less balanced tuning than premium brands. Category reviews mention common issues like Bluetooth connectivity problems and poor signal spottiness. Some users praise battery life and sound quality in other models, but this speaker's 160W is noted as potentially peak power, and its bass can overpower mids at high volumes, a contrast to some premium brands' tuning.
Is the RWN Outdoor Bluetooth Speaker suitable for parties and rugged outdoor use?
Yes, its 160W sound, IP67 rating, and included strap make it ideal for parties and rugged use. The speaker is described as having 'Epic 160W OUTDOOR SOUND' for navigating backyard parties and movie nights. It's built with 'IP67 FULL PROTECTION' for outdoor adventures, shrugging off splashes and rain. Users report it 'feels rugged like it was designed to be tossed in the back of a truck or left on a sandy beach', with a useful handle and shoulder strap.
What are the main complaints about the RWN Outdoor Bluetooth Speaker?
Complaints note potential imbalance at high volumes and uncertainty about peak vs. RMS power. At higher volumes, bass can sometimes overpower mids and vocals, leading to less balanced tuning compared to premium brands. Additionally, the advertised 160W is often peak power, not continuous RMS, so the real output can vary. Some users also found the top buttons a bit stiff initially.
Why we judge it this way
The RWN Outdoor Bluetooth Speaker is positioned as a powerful audio device for outdoor use, boasting an impressive 160W sound output. This high wattage, combined with two 3.5-inch 60W woofers and two 20W tweeters, makes it suitable for large gatherings and outdoor parties, aiming to fill venues with sound. Its IP67 waterproof rating further solidifies its suitability for rugged outdoor adventures, protecting against splashes and rain. The speaker also offers practical features like 24-hour battery life with 30W fast charging and the ability to double as a portable power bank, addressing common concerns about device power during extended use. Its portability is enhanced by an included ergonomic adjustable shoulder strap and sturdy handle, making it easy to carry without burden.
However, the evidence suggests potential caveats for discerning users. Community feedback indicates that at higher volumes, the bass might overpower the mids and vocals, leading to a less balanced sound profile when compared to more premium audio brands. Furthermore, the advertised 160W power is noted by some users as being peak power rather than continuous RMS, meaning the actual consistent output could vary. While the speaker is loud, this technical detail might matter to those seeking precise audio specifications. Additionally, some users have noted that the buttons on top can feel a little stiff at first, which could be a minor annoyance with frequent adjustments.
Despite these concerns, the product maintains a strong marketplace rating of 4.9 out of 5 stars across 46 ratings, indicating general satisfaction among its users. The speaker is praised for being loud enough to be a genuine nuisance to neighbors, with internal processing keeping vocals crisp even when bass is thumping. Its rugged build is also highlighted, feeling designed to be tossed in a truck or left on a sandy beach, with its handle and shoulder strap proving useful. The inclusion of 6 dynamic light shows adds to its party appeal, and its versatile connectivity options, including Bluetooth 5.3, a 3.5mm AUX jack, and USB drive playback, ensure compatibility with most devices. The dedicated Outdoor Mode and Bass Mode also allow for sound optimization based on the environment.
In summary, the RWN Outdoor Bluetooth Speaker is a compelling choice for users prioritizing loudness, durability, and portability for outdoor events. While it may not satisfy audiophiles looking for perfect sonic balance or absolute power clarity, its overall feature set and high marketplace rating suggest it delivers a robust audio experience for its intended use cases. The primary hesitation points revolve around sound tuning nuances at peak volume and the nature of its power rating, which are important considerations for potential buyers.
The strongest objection we found
At higher volumes, the bass can sometimes overpower mids and vocals, making the tuning feel less balanced compared to premium brands.
