This is an OEM electronic control board and is made for refrigerators and freezers. This is a factory upgraded replacement part for Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, Kenmore, and others. This Electronic (JAZZ) Control Board manages various functions of your refrigerator, ensuring proper temperature control and operation. After installation, the board will need to be programmed. An instruction sheet is included.
Causes of a bad Electronic Control Board can include electrical surges, which can damage components on the board, age-related wear and tear affecting its functionality, and exposure to moisture or extreme temperature fluctuations. These factors can lead to a malfunctioning fridge with erratic behaviors.
A new electronic control board might be needed if the fridge is warmer than usual, if the freezer is not able to defrost, if the freezer or fridge will not start or stops working unexpectedly, or if the freezer is too cold and is unable to increase the temperature on its own. This repair is easy, but the part will need to be programmed after it is installed. Be sure that the appliance is completely disconnected from its power source before attempting a repair.
