Extension Privacy Policy

1. What the extension collects

• Email address — only if you choose to set a price-drop alert. Used solely to send that alert.
• Saved items, alerts and settings — stored locally in your browser's own storage; they do not leave your device unless you export or delete them.
• Anonymous interaction events — e.g. that a verdict card was shown or a deal button clicked (with product id and region), sent to our own backend to improve coverage and reliability.
• The page's product identifier (e.g. ASIN) and detected region — sent to our backend to look up whether we track that product. We do not store the URLs you browse.

2. What the extension does NOT collect

We do not sell your data and do not act as a data broker.

• Your browsing history or activity on other sites.
• Personal names, addresses, or payment information.
• Sensitive personal data.

3. Affiliate links

The extension only opens a retailer site when you actively click a HotDeals button, routing through our /go/ tracker, which records the click. Retailers (Amazon, AliExpress) may set their own cookies to attribute a purchase. We may earn a commission at no cost to you. We never modify or replace links on the pages you visit.

4. Permissions (why we need them)

• Access to supported shopping sites and hotdeals.today — to read the product identifier on the page and fetch our price data.
• Storage — to keep your saved items, alerts and settings.
• Notifications & alarms — to remind you of price drops you asked for. Requested only when you first set an alert. Respects your system notification settings; the extension works without them.

5. Data sharing & security

Data goes only to HotDeals.today's own backend over HTTPS. No third-party data brokers.

6. Your controls & rights

Export or delete your saved data from the Options page at any time; cancel alerts anytime; pause the extension per site or globally. If you are in the UK/EU, you have GDPR rights to access, rectify, delete your data and withdraw consent — contact privacy@hotdeals.today.
