Specs 6 shear bolts / 6 nuts. Bolt dimensions 1/4 x 1/4 x 1 9/16 inches. Type Snow Blower Shear Pins. * Should a snow blower auger become jammed, the objective is for the shear bolt to purposely fail before damage of the stress load created by the jam reaches the auger gear box or other components. If the auger hits a hard object, the shear pin breaks to prevent the transmission and engine from being damaged. The auger will not turn if the shear pin is broken. *
